HOME INSPECTION BASICS
Home inspections are an inexpensive way to ensure you are making an informed choice about your home-buying investment and the possible repairs it may require. While your home may look move-in ready, a home inspection will cover less visible areas of your home such as plumbing, electrical wiring, heating, roofing, insulation, air and water quality, and structural components. This inspection may reveal potentially costly, hidden issues that were not immediately noticeable to you during your initial walkthrough of the property.
Some issues I’ve discovered during inspections:
- Frozen pipe damage
- Cracked chimney crown
- Chimney leakage in attic
- Bathroom venting into attic
- Overloaded breaker box
- Lack of insulation
- Sump pump / sewer connection
- Open junction box
- Water damage
- Lack of insulation
- Knob and tube wiring
- Unlined chimney flues
